the much improved second version of the visone software for visual analysis of social networks is now available. The software is under constant development. Updated versions with bug-fixes and new features will be provided when they are available.

visone is free for academic and research purposes, and no registration is required. Simply use Java Web Start or download any of the following (i.e., right-click on a link and select “Save Link As…”). Please notice also the disclaimer.

Java Web Start is the recommended way to start visone. Just click webstart visone.

using Java Web Start the visone software can check on every start if a newer version of the program is available on the visone homepage. If an updated version is found, only changed parts of the software are downloaded to the local hard drive. Without an internet connection visone starts from the local hard drive without checking for updates. You can Web-Start visone either by clicking the link above or by using the Java Web Start Application Manager in the program menu.

these versions use Java to run on all common operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS) and requires an installation of the Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 (or newer) on your computer. You can download it for free from Sun Microsystems.
